Oh Canada! ... Almost!

Charlie is accusing me of being a lazy blogger.. rightfully so BUT I have yet another excuse! Beau and his owner moved to Ithaca NY this past week and... they don't even GET internet... you have to have dish internet! (Isn't that weird or am I just a suburbs kid to the core??) All the way to Ithaca we saw signs for CANADA! And there were statues of buffalo on the median... good thing I wasn't driving because I did a hard double take thinking they were real!

Beau is SO SO happy. He is a good house dog but belongs on a farm and dearly missed his cows and fields and constant state of muddienesss!





Charlie and I will accompany them as soon as I find a job! ....easier said than done...



Charlie and Beau LOVE the huge grass field behind the house... I love that the yard is "fenced in" with corn and there are NO CARS for me to worry over!!!!

Happy dogs.. I think they were hunting butterflies? If only they could hunt jobs!!! :)

Trouble with being timid....

Charlie has all of a sudden become.. TERRIFIED of EVERYTHING!!!

He's always been shy around new people over the past week its gotten so much worse! I tried to take him on a walk (by himself) and despite the fact that I was on a quite street he was darting in and out and crying the entire time. :( I took him to the pet store with Beau and he had the same panicked reaction... When people try to pet him (even very gently hold a hand out for a sniff) he bolts the other direction! I don't know what to do because at home he is wild crazy and boisterous but as soon as hes alone or somewhere 'new' hes miserable! :(

Anyone else had a timid scared pup? I hope its a stage... all I can think of to do is keep dragging him everywhere I can... but its so bad that people give me funny looks when my cute puppy runs and cries from a welcoming hand :/

Today I tried a solo walk with a handful of treats and we made it halfway down the street with no anxiety but when we went for ice cream with Beau he was crying and wanting to be held or run away the whole time even though I was offering treats and the doggy ice cream!

Looked back at the FIRST pictures I saw of Charlie (and the rest of his litter!)

I think they were 5 weeks old... so small !!!!

Nothing to do with an aussie BUT

This posting has ZERO do to with my little aussie but another one of my "kids" has made me SO proud that I had to share!!! Gitano, a little Andalusian horse at my barn that I've been riding all summer has been selected for the 2010 World Equestrian Games!!!! Gitano will be a member of South Africa's para dressage team with his new rider, who is paralyzed from the waist down. She rides him better than I do! I'm so happy that she found a horse that will give her the confidence (and the moves) to kick butt in Kentucky (and maybe the 2012 Olympics!) and even happier that its my little buddy!


Isn't he handsome :) Watch for him in London 2012!

Camping Recap!!!

Charlie has spent the last... well MONTH being a traveling little puppy! Camping and swimming and chasing everything in sight! He's become quite the swimmer.. now that he's put some weight on he plays in the water the whole time we're at the lake (instead of playing then shivering in a corner!! poor skinny nub!)


Charlie is also growing straight UP! His legs are soo long! My mini aussie is not looking very mini!!

We are also in the midst of packing up my college house to move! Charlie is a theif and steals things out of boxes. Then Beau (the goody 2 shoes) follows him whining! Its too funny!

Of course every time we went swimming I forgot my camera! And there were some moments I was not willing to move to get my camera! Charlie decided that he enjoys being a snuggly puppy and routinely hops up on the couch or bed next to me with a toy :)

He also knows that if he sits in front of me and lifts his paw in the air while giving a me a super sad puppy face look that I can't resist picking him up! Although it always seems to be when he has wet muddy paws :/ oh well I'll take a wet muddy snuggle over none!!

Long time no see!

We've been quite lazy with our blogging! Charlie has been camping and swimming and traveling ALL over the state! Of course the lack of blogs could be due to the fact that little Charlie chewed through the computer charger!!! gr. So with new charger safely off the floor I thought we'd update quickly! Once I unpack and find the camera cord there will be many pictures and stories!

Oh... and Charlie has finally started snuggling!!! He loves his belly rubbed and I catch him sneaking closer and closer when he naps!
